Election Time is Coming Up!

Do you want to help make a change at York and in our community?

Join Student Council!

This year, the election process will start during the first two months of school.  Please find out the requirements for being a Student Council Officer by clicking the Info button on the right side of this page.  Under the Elections heading, you will see an application to be an officer.

If you are interested in being a class representative only, you can just wait until your class has an election during the first week of October.

Please make sure that you will have the time to dedicate to Student Council before choosing to be a part of it.

What the jobs look like:
Student Council Officer-
Officers meet with Mrs. Stout each month either before or after school for one hour.  You will have to have a ride to or from school that day.  During this meeting we discuss what we will talk about with all of the Student Council members and we plan for events. Officers also attend any before or after school event Student Council is in charge of.   Students will need to have their own rides to or from school on these days.

Student Council Class Representative-
A representative is chosen from each classroom in grades 3-5.  These students will meet with the officers and Mrs. Stout during school once a month for a 30-45 minute meeting.  Here we will discuss  upcoming events and new ideas students bring to the table. Class representatives also attend any before or after school event Student Council is in charge of.   Students will need to have their own rides to or from school on these days.

If you have any questions, or would like a paper copy of the Student Council Officer application, please see Mrs. Stout in Trailer 1.

See you soon! :) Mrs. Stout
